Completion of the work of the third section of the rehabilitation of the Ataq-Al Abr International Road

The technical teams of the Ayyad General Contracting Establishment, under the follow-up of the Governor of Shabwa Governorate, Awad bin Al-Wazir, and under the supervision of the Minister of Public Works and Roads, Salem Al-Aboudi, and with funding from the Roads and Bridges Maintenance Fund, continue to complete the work of the third section of the Ataq-Al-Abr International Road, which extends from Ataq to the Saudi border region of Al-Abr.
The road maintenance and rehabilitation work includes paving the road with a new asphalt layer, in addition to constructing a protection wall made of gravel and concrete materials, and installing traffic safety barriers.
The length of the Ataq-Abr International Road is about 250 km, and connects the city of Ataq, the center of Shabwa Governorate, with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Ataq-Al Abr International Road is one of the most important roads in Yemen, as it represents a vital artery linking all Yemeni governorates.
The completion of this project comes within the framework of the efforts made by the local authority, led by Governor Ben Al-Wazir, to re-improve the infrastructure in the governorate.
It is expected that the rehabilitation of the road will contribute to revitalizing the movement of trade and transport between the Yemeni governorates, improving the economic and social conditions of the population, and ending the suffering of travelers due to the deterioration of the road and the lack of any maintenance on it since its construction more than 20 years ago.
