Judicial authorities begin their efforts to verify the incident of drug smuggling in non-refrigerated containers

The Attorney General for Public Funds, Judge Nabil Jobah, and the Chief Prosecutor for Public Funds Appeals, Judge Abdullah Salem Nasser, today, Tuesday, inspected the free zone and Aden Customs, as part of following up on the directives of the Attorney General.
During the visit, Judges Jobah and Nasser met with the Director of Free Zone Security, Major General Abdul Salam Abdul Rab Al Omari, and the Director General of Customs, Brigadier General Mohsen Qahtan, to discuss the measures taken to prevent drug smuggling.
Judge Jobah confirmed that smuggling medicines is a crime punishable by Yemeni law with a penalty of up to three years and confiscation of the goods.
He stressed the need to take strict and deterrent measures to prevent the smuggling of medicines, treating them like drug trafficking cases, where the responsibility falls on every employee or citizen who facilitates or assists in the smuggling of drugs.
With regard to non-refrigerated medicine containers, Judge Jobah explained that it became clear, according to the free zone security and customs reports, that their exit had occurred under the direction of the Supreme Authority for Medicines, and that the Public Prosecution will investigate with the competent authorities in the Supreme Authority for Medicines.
The Chief Public Funds Prosecutor, Judge Abdullah Salem, also demanded that medications not be allowed to be taken out except after examination and examination, and in the event of a problem, it should not be resolved except by opening an official report.
For his part, the Director of Customs, Brigadier General Mohsen Qahtan, explained that several meetings had previously been held regarding the examination, full preparation, replacement of all readiness, and disclaimer of responsibility. He also stressed the importance of the connection between the Public Prosecution and Customs, and that all the steps of their work are interconnected, and efforts must be intensified. At this stage.
