Tihama fishermen between the hammer of the Houthi militia and the anvil of the international coalition

Tihama circles, including fishermen and activists, have warned of the danger to which fishermen from Tihama and Yemen in general are exposed, in terms of life-threatening risks due to Houthi naval attacks and the militarization of the sea by the international coalition, likening the situation of fishermen to the reality between a hammer and anvil.
She confirmed that fishermen along the Tihama coast are struggling with death, searching for a decent living in light of the current circumstances the country is experiencing.
She indicated that the Houthi militia has been threatening maritime navigation and has been firing missiles at commercial ships since last month, and that these hostile actions have affected more than 60 percent of the fishermen from Hodeidah Governorate only, not to mention the people of other governorates.
The Tuhamian circles explained that the hostile actions carried out by the Houthi militias made these fishermen leave the sea and the sea became under the control of the international coalition, which does not hesitate to strike every target that moves in front of it without distinction.
She continued that the life of the fisherman Al-Tuhamy was in danger, as eight fishermen from Al-Khawkhah District in Al-Hudaydah Governorate were killed a month ago. They went to the sea to fish and bring halal livelihood for themselves and their generous families.
She stressed the need to end the Stockholm Agreement, which made the Houthis grow little by little, and to continue liberating Hodeidah and its ports from which the militias feed.
She added that the fisherman had become a hostage, going to the sea in fear, waiting for where the Houthi missiles would come from on the one hand or the international coalition led by America and Britain on the other hand.
The Tuhamian circles called for an end to the militarization of the sea, the elimination of the Houthi militias as soon as possible, and support for the fishermen and their families in this disaster that befell them and their families.
