Urgent..The Supreme Judicial Council directs an investigation into the Governor of the Central Bank, “Al-Ma’baqi,” and bans him from traveling

The head of the Supreme Judicial Council, Judge Mohsen Yahya Taleb, today, Monday, directed Judge Qaher Mustafa Ali - the Attorney General, to investigate the Governor of the Central Bank of Yemen, Ahmed bin Ahmed Ghaleb Al-Muqabi.
According to a document obtained by Scoop24 News, the reason for the Judicial Council’s directive came due to the Bank Governor’s obstruction of the implementation of the financial strengthening of the judicial authority by the Central Bank Governor, and the Central Bank Governor’s failure to commit to the Ministry of Finance strengthening the judicial authority.
According to the decision of the Supreme Judicial Council, it directed that the Governor of the Central Bank be referred to the Public Prosecution to investigate the incident of obstructing the work of the judicial authority, and to prevent him from traveling.
This decision comes after an extraordinary meeting of the Supreme Judicial Council held today. This decision is a precedent in the history of Yemen, as the governor of the Central Bank has not been referred for investigation by the judiciary before.
