With the effort and perseverance of the director of Qataban School in Al-Mualla District, Ms. Wafa Ali Obaid, a reading library was opened today, with the aim of returning students to school reading and educating themselves.

  In the school principal’s speech, she stressed that the school library is an educational and cultural center that must be present in every basic education school. It is concerned with collecting sources of printed, visual and audio information that are useful and nourish the mind and thought of the student, and at the same time it is concerned with serving specific educational objectives, related to the objectives of the educational system. The school library has taken a modern educational approach based on encouraging students to read, read, develop learning abilities, and enrich educational curricula. It also indicated that the school library is considered an effective educational tool, a center for learning and searching for facts, obtaining information, and a means of intellectual enlightenment, as it contains within it the essence of human thought and providing... Users of the information sources.

 The school library is one of the sources of learning. It is one of the most important means used by the educational system in overcoming many educational problems that result from the changes that occurred in technological development, scientific discoveries, and the development of means of communication that facilitated the transfer of knowledge, culture, and information to all of humanity.

 The beginning of the establishment of the school library in Aden was in the twenties of the last century, when it was started by Hamoud Hassan Ali Al-Hashimi. Then, over the years, school libraries expanded and included most of Aden’s schools.
