The closing workshop of the project to enhance institutional and economic resilience in Yemen was held this morning in the city of Mukalla, entitled “What Next,” which is implemented by the United Nations Development Program in cooperation with the Sol Development Organization, within the component of strengthening local governance in the recovery of the education sector, one of the components of the project to enhance resilience. In the workshop, the General Director of the Office of the Ministry of Education in the Hadhramaut Coast, Mr. Amin Baabad, stressed the close relationship between the Office of the Ministry of Education and the donor organizations, which opened horizons of cooperation between the two parties that resulted in qualitative programs targeting educational and teaching staff.
The Director General of Development Research, Administration and Training, Dr. Marina Al-Johi, pointed out the importance of the project’s outputs being consistent with the educational need, noting the need to follow up and evaluate the outputs, praising the role of the project, which contributed to meeting many of the required educational needs.
In the workshop, the project coordinator in Hadhramaut Governorate, Osama Makarem, reviewed the activities that the project implemented for the educational sector at the level of Hadhramaut Governorate, coastal and valley, including training activities and rehabilitation courses, with a total number of beneficiaries reaching more than 1,671 beneficiaries.
