Al-Alimi confirms the continuation of the program to unify military and security formations and factions under a unified leadership

The Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council confirmed; Rashad Al-Alimi, to continue work on the program to unify military and security forces and factions in the recognized government coalition under a unified command, in accordance with the announcement of the transfer of power issued in early April 2022.
President Alimi said, during an expanded meeting that included the leadership of the Ministry of Defense, the Presidency of the General Staff, heads of agencies, commanders of forces, military regions and axes, and the Joint Operations Authority: “We will move forward with the program of unifying the armed and security forces and all military formations, reorganizing and integrating them under the umbrella of my ministry.” Defense and Interior, in accordance with what was stipulated in the announcement of the transfer of power.”
Alimi pointed out that national armies cannot become a safety valve for their countries except within the framework of a single operational decision at various levels, which requires everyone to make a redoubled effort to accomplish this matter in order to keep pace with the requirements of the current circumstances and their possible future paths.
The President stressed that the training and qualification program for members of the military services that has been implemented will remain a priority for the General Command and a major part of the plans of the Ministry of Defense, the General Staff and all formations to qualify these cadres in a way that meets the needs of the various theaters of operations and their developments.
Alimi explained that strengthening the military institution’s deterrence capabilities and high readiness is of great importance in light of the existing challenges, in order to enable it to respond effectively to the changes of the stage and their repercussions, especially since the Houthi group is still betting on the option of war despite its miserable failure over the past years.< /p>
The Chairman of the Leadership Council called for the necessity of completing financial and administrative reforms in the military institution, as “a decisive entry point for the advancement of this national institution and improving the conditions of its members, regardless of their grades and military ranks.”
Alimi pledged to work to accelerate the establishment of a national body to care for the wounded and the families of the martyrs, which he said “will see the light very soon, in recognition of their sacrifices and alleviating the suffering of their families.”
