The Prime Minister inspects the Royal Library in Mukalla and emphasizes the development of its services

Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak, today, Thursday, reviewed the holdings of the Royal Library in Mukalla, which is one of the oldest public libraries in the Arabian Peninsula, founded by Sultan Saleh bin Ghalib Al-Quaiti in 1941 AD.
The Prime Minister recognizes the library’s holdings of major books in all fields, the important role it played in the course of cultural activity in Hadramaut Governorate, and the haven it represented for intellectuals and researchers in various fields of science and knowledge.
The Prime Minister listened to an explanation from the Director General of the General Book Authority in Hadhramaut, Abdul Hakim bin Qadim, and the Library Director, Muhammad Al-Hamid, about the development plans for the library to preserve it as one of the heritage and cultural monuments that Hadhramaut is proud of, and to develop its services for readers and researchers.
The Prime Minister stressed the importance of developing library services and cataloging its contents electronically so that they are easily available to visitors, and establishing partnerships with civil society organizations and other libraries to hold cultural events that help spread awareness and culture.
