Rescue teams were able to recover the body of a woman three days after she drowned in Al-Thawra Park in the capital, Sanaa.
Sources said that rescue teams were able to recover the body of 22-year-old citizen Hiyam Mahyoub Khaled Qahtan after she drowned on the afternoon of the first day of Eid al-Fitr, Wednesday, Shawwal 1, in a flood drain in Al-Thawra Park, Amanat Al-Asimah.
She added that the official authorities, after receiving a report about a woman drowning in the floodwater drainage channel in Al-Thawra Park after the heavy rain that God Almighty bestowed on Wednesday afternoon, contacted the relevant government authorities to carry out the rescue operation.
She confirmed that the concerned authorities exerted all their capabilities over a period of 3 days to try to extract the body, as the water was sucked out of the drainage channel connected to the waterfall, and the waste collected by the floodwaters that had accumulated in the floodwater drainage channel and the water barrier was removed, and then divers entered the channel. The waterfall, until they reached the flood water drainage basin, until the drowned body was found at 11:45 pm last Friday evening.
