The Environmental Health Department carried out a wide inspection campaign throughout the Mansoura District, which it began during the month of Ramadan, targeting expired food supplies and stores serving ready-made food.
This campaign resulted in the seizure, withdrawal, and destruction of four tons and five hundred kilograms of various expired foodstuffs.
The Environmental Health Department took measures in accordance with the terrifying law by destroying expired materials in the waste dump in Bir Al-Naama, Al-Buraiqa District.
In a statement by Hassan Abdel Aziz Al-Subaihi, head of the Environmental Health Department to the newspaper, he said, under the guidance of Mr. Ahmed Ali Al-Daoudi, Director General of the Directorate, and under the supervision of Engineer Raafat Kokni, Director of the Public Works and Roads Office, the Environmental Health Department in the Mansoura Directorate has been implementing for months an extensive inspection campaign through which food supplies were withdrawn. Expired items and other materials for more than 4.5 tons of various foodstuffs have been completed, records have been prepared, and they have been destroyed in accordance with established procedures.
Mahmoud Al-Maflahi, Deputy Head of the Environmental Health Department, said that many damaged items, including expired food, diapers, and drinks, were withdrawn, seized, and destroyed during the implementation of the inspection campaign.
