In pictures: The depression fears major damage to the rural areas of Mukalla

The Secretary-General of the Local Council in Hadhramaut, Mr. Saleh Abboud Al-Omqi, was briefed today, along with the governorate’s deputy for technical affairs, Engineer Amin Barzeeq, on the extent of the damage caused to the areas and villages of the Mukalla Directorate, “the countryside of Mukalla,” as a result of the depression that most of the governorate’s regions and cities were exposed to. In addition to the efforts of field teams affiliated with the executive offices in removing waste and opening the main roads in those areas.
During the inspection tour, in which they were accompanied by the Director General of the Mukalla Rural District, Ahmed Suleiman Al-Akbari, a local secretary-general observed the extent of these damages and the cutting of some roads linking the city of Mukalla and its countryside and between the areas of the district.
In response to the directives of the Governor of Hadhramaut and Chairman of the Governorate’s Supreme Emergency Committee, Mr. Mabkhout Mubarak bin Madi, the Secretary-General directed the engineering teams and the relief and maintenance teams to quickly intervene to open roads urgently in the areas of the Mukalla Rural Directorate and carry out the removal work and remove the waste resulting from the torrents resulting from the depression. And rapid intervention to restore services in the areas and villages of the Directorate, in addition to submitting a general report on the damage in the affected sectors, the most important of which are roads.
