Adeniya judge: The Central Bank will be a party to accountability if it does not undertake the duty of protection

A famous Adenian judge confirmed that the Central Bank in the capital, Aden, will be a party to accountability, if it does not fulfill its duty of protection, against the suspended banks and for the benefit of depositors.
The well-known Adenian judge, Noura Dhifallah Qa’tabi, said that if the central bank was unable to protect customer deposits in these suspended banks, then the bank would be a party to accountability.
Judge Noura added that “any procedures related to banks assume and must take into account the rights of customers in these banks.”
Noura stated that “one of the Central Bank’s first duties is to protect customers’ deposits in these banks and their poor lives, and not to enable these banks to deplete depositors’ money, and to shirk their obligations to protect people’s money deposited with them, especially since the banks in Aden refuse to enable customers to withdraw from their deposits.” Under the pretext of the lack of liquidity, whether in riyals or dollars
Judge Noura pointed out that “these banks are open about their position that contradicts the most basic terms of the contracts concluded with these banks, and the Central Bank will be a party to accountability if it does not fulfill its duty of protecting the funds deposited in these banks.”
