The Al-Waht Cultural Forum was reopened, on Monday evening, in the village of Al-Waht in Lahj Governorate, in the presence of an elite group of political, academic, artistic and social figures and young people who came from the capital, Aden, under the patronage of the Governor of Lahj Governorate, Major General Ahmed Al-Turki, coinciding with the sixtieth anniversary of the October 14 Revolution.
The opening ceremony, which was organized by the Forum’s management, was attended by the human writer Dr. Hisham Al-Saqqaf, the great southern singer and artist, the great artist Muhammad Mohsen Atroush, and a number of pioneers of thought, literature, art, and Lahaji singing.
In his comment on the opening of the forum, Muhammad Al-Junaidi, Director General of the Office of the Minister of State, Governor of Aden, praised the role of the forum in serving culture and creativity in Lahj Governorate, stressing the importance of the role of culture as a beacon of awareness and enlightenment and shaping the features of the future.
Al-Junaidi pointed out that Al-Wahat was always a pioneer in all stages and fields, as it was a pioneer in thought, science, struggle and struggle, and here it is today, through this reopened cultural forum, renewing the spirit of culture, reviving the heritage, and creating new platforms for awareness and enlightenment at this stage. The mission is part of the nation’s history.
For his part, the great artist Muhammad Mohsen Atroush confirmed that the opening of the Al-Waht Cultural Forum is an important cultural event in Lahj Governorate, and that the forum will play a major role in enriching the cultural life in the governorate.
The opening ceremony included various artistic and cultural activities, including a group of poems recited by a number of poets from Lahj Governorate, as well as a number of Tarab songs performed by a local musical band.
The opening was attended by Abdul Raouf Zain Al-Saqqaf, member of the Presidency of the Council, Deputy Governor of Aden Governorate, Dr. Muhammad Hassan Al-Saqqaf, Chairman of the Republic Hospital Authority, lawyer Adnan Sheikh Al-Junaidi, head of the Southern Bar Association, and Dr. Muhammad Sheikh Al-Junaidi, Deputy Dean of the College of Medicine.
