The National Movement for Correction and Construction called on the Attorney General of the Republic, Judge Qaher Mustafa, to use his powers to move to close the financial accounts of various state institutions in the capital, Aden, and the liberated cities, which are open in private companies and banks, and to refer the heads and officials of these entities involved in this process to prosecutors. The competent authority to investigate them, considering what they are doing to be serious violations against the law, manipulation and open waste of public money, at a time when the country is suffering from an imminent economic and service collapse, and the government’s repeated inability to pay the salaries of employees and retirees.
This came in an urgent press release addressed by the National Movement for Correction and Construction, today, Saturday, to the Attorney General, supported by evidence and documents proving the validity of the report and complaint, most notably the circulars of the Ministry of Finance, which amounted to more than fifty circulars, addressed to the governors of the liberated governorates, institutions and government agencies. Stressing the need to move as quickly as possible to close these violating accounts, and transfer the revenues of these parties to the government accounts in the Central Bank of Yemen, in accordance with what is stipulated in the law in force in the country, warning that laxity and complacency in resolving this file will expose everyone to the legal issue before the courts. The Correction Movement also called on the Prime Minister, Dr. Ahmed bin Mubarak, and the Attorney General, Judge Qaher Mustafa, to coordinate and work together, to oblige the governors of the liberated governorates to supply state revenues to the Central Bank in Aden, and to open an urgent investigation with them about the wasted funds that did not reach the Central Bank in Aden.
