The family of journalist Muhammad Al-Muqri, who was kidnapped since October 2015 in the city of Mukalla, issued a statement expressing their great doubts about the authenticity of the statement attributed to Al-Qaeda, which claimed the liquidation of 11 kidnapped people, including journalist Muhammad Al-Muqri.
The statement stated that the family excludes the validity of these allegations for several reasons, including the organization’s failure to publish any visual recordings proving the journalist’s trial or confessions, contrary to its custom in such cases. The family also pointed out the absence of any reliable information about most of the names mentioned in the statement, which raises doubts about its credibility.
The family confirmed their refusal to accept any condolences for the killing of their son, considering that he is still alive and kidnapped by the organization. It also called on the concerned authorities and human rights organizations to press to reveal the fate of the journalist and the rest of the kidnapped people.
It is noteworthy that journalist Muhammad Al-Muqri was kidnapped in October 2015 during Al-Qaeda’s control of the Hadhramaut coast, and his family is still searching for the truth ten years after his disappearance.
