The Israeli army recruited dozens of Israeli Jews of Yemeni origin, who speak Arabic with the Yemeni dialect, in the Military and Military Intelligence Division, to help in the fight against the Ansar Allah group “Houthis” in Yemen.

Some of those recruited for the mission immigrated from Yemen, and some of them grew up in Israel in homes that spoke Arabic with the Yemeni dialect. The Israeli army is betting on them that they will help it collect intelligence information and understand the Yemeni language and culture. According to statistics, about 435,000 Yemeni Jews live in Israel.

However, the administration asked Israel to examine the targets it attacks in Yemen, as part of the campaign against the Houthis, and ensure that they are military targets - not civilian targets.
