A circular issued by the Ministry of Defense and a deadline for submitting resignations

A circular issued by the Ministry of Defense addressed to assistants to the Minister of Defence, directors of departments, commanders of forces and brigades, heads of agencies, commanders of military regions and commanders of special units, stipulated addressing the phenomenon of dual employment and the combination of some military personnel between their military jobs and civilian ones, which is considered a violation of the laws.
The circular required military personnel to submit a resignation from the additional position they wished to give up.
The circular also gave a deadline for resignations before January 31, 2025, with legal penalties imposed on violators, including demotion, submitting a signed copy of the resignation to the competent authority, and completing termination procedures.
The circular stipulates adherence to instructions to achieve job discipline, and the Ministry will take the necessary measures against violators after the deadline expires.
The Ministries of Civil Service and Finance had issued a similar circular earlier last year regarding job dualism in units of the state’s administrative apparatus: :
Combining more than one salary for a permanent or temporary job
Combining a salary for a permanent or temporary job with a retirement pension
Combining more than one pension from retirement funds.
The committee addressed, in a media clarification, all those included in the cases and invited them to visit its headquarters in the Ministry of Service and submit voluntary resignation requests from dual positions, giving them a maximum period of thirty days, starting from September 15, 2024 AD.
