The Minister of Oil rejects the Prime Minister’s decision to stop “Al Hammadi”

The Minister of Oil and Minerals, Dr. Saeed Suleiman Al-Shammasi, rejected the decision of the Prime Minister, Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak, to suspend Engineer Adel Al-Hammadi from working as Acting Executive Director General of the Yemen Petroleum and Mineral Investments Company, and to cancel the ministerial assignment decision issued against him.< /p>
In a letter addressed to the Prime Minister dated January 17, 2025 AD, Minister Al-Shamasi confirmed that Ministerial Resolution No. (26) of 2024 AD, issued on December 25, 2024 AD, regarding the assignment of Engineer Adel Al-Hammadi, was based on Presidential Leadership Council Resolution No. (31) For the year 2024 AD.
The Minister of Oil explained that the decision of the Presidential Leadership Council meeting No. (31) of 2024 stipulated the suspension of the former Executive Director General of the company and his referral for investigation, with the Minister of Oil directing one of the Deputy Director General to be assigned to manage the company during this period.
Minister Al-Shammasi indicated that canceling the ministerial assignment decision without issuing directives from the Presidential Leadership Council, the body issuing the decision, is a legal violation that may result in administrative and legal consequences.
The Minister of Oil called on the Prime Minister to review the directives to ensure compliance with the relevant laws and presidential decisions.
The Minister concluded his speech by emphasizing the Ministry’s keenness to adhere to legal procedures and applicable legislation, stressing the importance of respecting the powers of the Presidential Leadership Council in this regard.
