The Houthis demand Saudi Arabia to implement peace agreements and recognize their authority

The leader of the Houthi group and the head of what is known as the "Supreme Political Council", Mahdi Al -Mashat, considered that the American strikes that targeted his group came in response to their positions supporting the Palestinian cause, and describing it as "a support of the Zionist enemy."
Al -Mashat said, in a speech on the occasion of the anniversary of the start of the military intervention of the Arab coalition in Yemen, that the "American aggression" is only an extension of what he described as "Gulf aggression" that began on March 26, 2015 under the "Storm Storm" and "Re -Hope" operations, considering that the group is still in the battle of steadfastness and confrontation since then.
In the context of his talk about regional developments, he called on Saudi Arabia to move forward in implementing the agreements that would achieve "comprehensive and permanent peace" in Yemen, stressing the necessity of Riyadh's commitment to what he called "peace requirements", which he identified in stopping military operations, lifting the siege, and withdrawing foreign forces from Yemen, in addition to addressing the files of prisoners, compensation, and reconstruction.
He called on Saudi Al -Mashat, along with Egypt, Jordan and Iraq, to recognize the authority of his group, and work to enhance Arab cooperation and coordination to confront the "expansionist Zionist ambitions", as he put it.
Criticism of the United States and accusations in coordination with affected parties
Al -Mashat did not provide in his speech his criticism of the United States, accusing it of trying to protect Israel by imposing sanctions on his group and leaders, which are the sanctions that began to be applied early this year, and said that these measures are "absolutely legitimate", considering that they come within the framework of desperate attempts to support Tel Aviv.
He revealed "ongoing formats" with affected parties of US sanctions, noting that his group is working to take steps that affect American interests globally.
The word Al -Mashat was not without a direct attack on the United States, as former US President Donald Trump described the "infidel", considering that the American strikes will not discourage the Houthis from their positions. He added, adding his speech to Trump: "Your entire presidential term will not suffice for our ourselves, but even what remains of your life will not be sufficient," stressing that his group is ready to face the challenges "across generations."
At a time when Al -Mashat focused on criticizing the internationally recognized Yemeni government, accusing it of "destroying the economy and currency, looting the capabilities of the people, and lack of services", ignoring the talk about the deteriorating humanitarian conditions in the areas controlled by his group.
Al -Mashat did not touch on the sharp living crises that the population suffers from under the rule of the Houthis, including the spread of corruption, the spread of armed groups, and the deprivation of employees of their salaries, but only to hold the legitimate government responsible for the economic and living deterioration, pledged at the same time to “liberate every inch of Yemen.”
Al -Mashat speech comes at a time when the Yemeni scene is witnessing accelerated military and political developments, with the continued American strikes on the Houthi sites, and the escalation of international calls for a political solution that ends the conflict that has been going on for more than nine years.
