- First: The Council affirms its full support for reaching a political solution, in accordance with the Gulf Initiative and its implementation mechanism, the outcomes of the Comprehensive National Dialogue Conference, and Security Council Resolution 2216, in a way that preserves the sovereignty, unity, territorial integrity and independence of brotherly Yemen.
- Our comment:
.....As usual, the Gulf Cooperation Council - and not just the Council of Ministers - deliberately repeats this phrase in a provocative manner to the southern party, which removed the stumbling block of this alliance and saved it from a humiliating defeat against the Houthis after it was defeated in its war with the latter in the north of March 2015 AD. We do not know about which Gulf initiative this council is talking about, nearly 15 years after its determination to resolve the conflict between the ruling and opposition parties in Sana’a, in which the southern issue was completely absent? As for any outputs that were formulated in a way of fraud and deception, they have faded and been forgotten by reality after more than a decade of its not-so-long life. Then what Yemeni unity are these people talking about after all this devastation, after all that happened in terms of crushing this slandered unity, and after the coalition, its partners, and its opponents, from the beginning of this war, destroyed the remaining political ties between the south and the north? And they, the Gulf, are already devoting the reality of non-unity. And separation day after day. Even though we know that their talk about maintaining unity is nothing more than comforting the northern parties and forces and calming them down, at the same time we know that they (the Gulf) stand as a stumbling block in the way of the project to restore the state in the south in order to implement their interests and not the interests of Yemen, as some fools believe. That is, they are going to produce a situation of neither unity nor separation. Any situation in between.
Second: The Council welcomes the announcement of the United Nations envoy on December 23, 2023, that the Yemeni parties had reached a commitment to a set of measures that include implementing a ceasefire that includes all of Yemen, measures to improve living conditions in Yemen, and engaging in preparations to resume an inclusive political process under the auspices of the United Nations. .
-Our comment:
...With all lightness and impudence, the statement speaks about the fact that Yemeni parties have reached commitments and measures, while the Council and its companions know that those so-called measures and understandings were made exclusively between Riyadh and Sanaa. For whose sake is this neglect being done, and why the parties being attacked and in whose name, including the southern party, remain silent? Then what does it mean for the Council to reiterate its assertion that the current understandings and final settlement are and will be made under the umbrella of the United Nations and not the umbrella of the coalition?
Third: The Council praises the deposit by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia of the second batch of support to address the budget deficit of the Yemeni government and support salaries, wages, operating and food security expenses in Yemen, amounting to 250 million US dollars, out of a total support amounting to 1.2 billion dollars.
-Our comment:
... This amount, I mean 250 million, is part of a deposit and not support as stated in the statement and as suggested by the Gulf media. Then how many times do we have to hear this news? . Before and after this, what do they mean by 12 billion? And where did this huge amount go if it was actually sent to Yemen? Although we doubt the validity of the number at all. What is also strange is the silence of those concerned in the Central Bank and successive governments and their fear of saying a word about this matter.
