The Houthi militia announced today the inauguration of sectarian mobilization centers during the summer vacation, which are the summer centers that it usually uses to recruit children in areas under its control.
The Houthi militia used to organize the centers every year, and lead intensive campaigns to persuade parents and force them to enroll their children in these courses.
The leader of the militia, Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, gave a speech on this occasion, via closed-circuit television, in which he claimed that what distinguishes the summer courses held by his group is that they “come on the basis of the faith identity of the Yemeni people,” as he put it.
These centers come in light of the noticeable collapse in the educational process, with teachers remaining without salaries for seven years, and are also accompanied by a continuing wave of violations committed by the militia against workers in the educational sector.
He also attacked the Saudi government, accusing it of “removing the Qur’anic verses that talk about the crimes of the Jews in order to please the Zionist enemy,” he said.
For its part, the government warned of the dangers of the militia opening hundreds of camps in areas under its control, to lure and recruit children under the guise of summer centers.
The Minister of Information, Muammar Al-Eryani, explained that the militia is carrying out mobilization campaigns, calling on the international community and human rights organizations to carry out their legal, humanitarian and moral responsibilities, and to take action to stop the mass recruitment of children.
