Abyan Governorate is witnessing serious security developments resulting from the secret alliance between the terrorist organization Al-Qaeda and the Houthi militia, as reports indicate the establishment of joint camps between Al-Bayda and Abyan to train members of the two groups.
According to reliable sources, the Houthi militia provided Al-Qaeda with Iranian marches, on orders from Iran, with the aim of striking the southern armed forces that have been leading a war against terrorist elements for months in Abyan and Shabwa.
A security source confirmed to Scoop24 News that a new armed faction has recently emerged in the districts of Abyan Governorate under the name “Toofan”, which is a mixture of Al-Qaeda elements with Houthi ideas, which poses an imminent danger to the governorate, which has suffered from the scourges of conflicts. In Lawdar District, An armed faction sparked terror and formed armed gangs under the name “Toofan Zara,” and in Modiya District, another faction called “Toofan Rayman” appeared, where its members detonated sound bombs and caused terror among the people, which called on residents to seek help from the security forces.
The security forces, consisting of Abyan Security and the Security Belt, responded and last week launched a campaign targeting “Toofan Zara” members and were able to arrest a number of them.
However, the threat remains, as expectations indicate that Al-Qaeda and Houthi elements may launch a war against Abyan in the coming days with the aim of controlling it.
This dangerous alliance between Al-Qaeda and the Houthis puts Abyan Governorate on the brink of a new security confrontation, requiring a decisive response by the security forces and coordination with the Arab coalition to support stability in the region and prevent the spread of chaos and violence.
