The tragic conditions are increasing for many of the Yemeni people, especially citizens with limited income, who have been affected by all different aspects, such as the worsening economic situation and the lack of salaries for some government employees, as they approach the start of Eid Al-Adha
The simple Yemeni family is the real bearer of the consequences of the situation and bears many challenges. This is due to the painful attempts made by the Houthi militia on the Yemeni governorates, the price of which is paid by the people of this people on a daily basis, day after day. There is nothing new to mention the decent life desired by the people of the country. The most difficult thing is that we are on the verge of Eid al-Adha, and it is natural to prepare for this occasion, especially since children in Yemen are the ones who make us feel the beauty and spirit of the blessed Eid al-Adha. Most children in Yemen do not have their most basic rights, such as Eid clothing, and this is a natural matter for every innocent soul who wants to integrate with the Eid occasion. Eid al-Adha, as the price of children’s clothes has reached a maximum of $30 per child. Many parents do not have enough food for the day and their salaries are low, so how can they provide their children with their rights for the joy of Eid.
What has exacerbated the situation is the high prices of Eid sacrifice in all governorates without exception, as statistical indications from Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper indicate that Yemenis annually consume more than 400 thousand tons of local and imported meat, mostly from the Horn of Africa, with a value of 450.7 billion riyals.
The average price of a head of goat or sheep weighing between 10 and 15 kilograms exceeded 200 dollars in a number of areas controlled by the Houthi group, that is, more than 100 thousand Yemeni riyals (as the group imposes a fixed price for the dollar amounting to 530 riyals). However, these prices may exceed this average depending on the sizes and types of livestock, or as Eid approaches and demand increases.
It is worth noting that the per capita income of the Yemeni does not exceed fifty dollars per month. This in turn increased the magnitude of the tragedy and suffering on the breadwinner of the family, since the breadwinner was the father or the mother. The Yemeni people are between two fires, the sweeter of which is bitter. They cannot enjoy joy nor the Sunnah of the Prophet because they do not have the minimum capabilities and the simplest provision. Needs: This is due to the deterioration of their purchasing power and the expansion of the humanitarian crisis that the country is suffering from as a result of the Houthi militia coup.
