He has been leaning on his cane as he follows the Culture Office a week ago to hold his personal exhibition, a long journey during which he travels between the Culture Office, the Governor of Aden, and the Ministry of Culture.
All of this.. just.. so that the artist Ali Al-Dharhani can hold his personal exhibition, and this happens despite the fact that he is appointed advisor to the Minister of Culture for Fine Arts.. His position, his history, and his creative works did not help him.
For years, he did not despair, even after he suffered a fall at his home that caused an injury that forced him to use a cane to help him walk with difficulty.
More than two years ago, I spoke with the director of the Heritage and Development Fund about the possibility of adopting an exhibition by the artist Ali Al-Dharhani. At that time, the director of the Fund expressed his willingness and asked me to inquire from the artist about the costs of holding the exhibition. Communication took place and the artist Al-Dharhani provided them with the costs, which are estimated at a sum of money. Very simple, and yet the artist Al-Dharhani is still waiting.
Imagine that the Ministry of Culture cannot hold an exhibition by Al-Dharhani, advisor to the Minister of Culture for Fine Arts, even though that would only cost it a small sum, while millions are spent in the name of art and creators without finding any trace of it in the Aden cultural scene.
Also, the Heritage Fund, which is concerned with cultural activity affairs and is dedicated to cultural projects, was unable to hold a plastic exhibition by the artist Al-Dharhani.
The Office of Culture, the governor, the millions, and the monthly allowance - all of this was unable to organize a special exhibition for Al-Dharhani for years.
The artist Ali Al-Dharhani did not benefit from his artistic career in knowledge, study, art and creativity, nor his creative participation in the Yemeni scene, nor his representation of the country in external events, knowing that holding the exhibition will cost a very small amount, and will not affect the millions that are wasted unjustly. Al-Dharhani did not ask for money as much as he asked them to prepare the place and other equipment.
The artist Al Dharhani will remain leaning on his stick, searching for an opportunity to hold his exhibition without despair. Will he find someone to interact with?
We are talking here about holding an art exhibition, even after his illness, but as for the question about his illness and injury; We realize that this will not happen, because those responsible for culture are very busy caring for culture and intellectuals, and they will continue their activity...while culture in Aden remains a trace after an eye.!
Peace be upon the culture of Aden
