The Houthis are still betting on Iranian support despite the deep rifts that have struck the so-called axis of resistance, especially after the recent changes in the region.
Iran itself is facing a state of weakness and confusion, following the killing of Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of the Lebanese Hezbollah, and the party’s inability to withstand the continuing Israeli strikes.
In Syria, history recorded successive victories for the revolutionaries that led to the collapse of Bashar al-Assad’s regime, and his flight with his family to Russia, leaving behind a people who paid the bill for his oppression and sectarian regime. Did the Houthis realize the Syrian lesson? That country is geographically and politically closer to Iran than Yemen, yet the “axis of resistance” did not succeed in saving Assad from his inevitable fate.
Doesn't Al-Houthi realize that Bashar let him down and Iran sold him out in broad daylight?! And neither his common borders with it, nor the forces of the "Shiite Mobilization Forces" close to him, nor the highly armed Hezbollah militias, as they claim, helped him.
How can the Houthis hold out false hopes for Iranian support when they are more isolated and retreating at the international and regional levels?
Powerful countries supported Bashar al-Assad with air force and military equipment, and he waited for them in his final days. He said more than once, calling for help: The gangs are coming and they will not let him down, but they let him down and left him to face his fate. So what international relations does Al-Houthi have that he can rely on? It has drawn the wrath of the entire international community as it targets ships and pirates at sea on global trade lines?
Even if the Houthis today boast with speeches about their military power and their ability to arm thousands of fighters since October 7 of last year, history says: Al-Assad, who ruled Syria for decades, formed an ideological army from his Alawite sect, and that his army only withstood the revolution. A few days. What are the Houthi forces that he is betting on when he is the one who failed the people, sold them illusions, and left a funeral room in every house?
While Al-Assad relied on constitutional legitimacy recognized by some countries, Al-Houthi does not enjoy any Arab or international recognition.
In the eyes of the Yemeni people, the Constitution, the Arab League and the international community, it is merely an armed coup that was helped by the fragility of the state and its internal conflicts to survive.
The Iranian regime that had sponsored it for two decades collapsed within a matter of days, and we witnessed in Syria the return of tens of thousands of displaced people to their homes after they dropped the symbolism of the unjust regime that displaced them, and the people regained the initiative after being exhausted by the machine of oppression and destruction.
The Houthi must prepare for the anger of the people, as it is stronger than military convoys, fighter planes, and supporting forces, and stronger than alliances of regional and international powers.
But the militia leader’s speeches that ignore all of these readings push you to review God’s universal law regarding the oppressors from the era of Pharaoh to the era of Al-Houthi, for God does not guide the unjust people, nor guide them to what is in their best interests and salvation.
Houthi and his militias must turn the pages of history well, as its lessons bear witness to the fates of all tyrants, and the moment of reckoning will inevitably come.
