He also participated in negotiations to return two reserve soldiers, who were kidnapped by the party before the Second Lebanon War in July 2006, and on the day of their release on July 16, 2008, he strongly refused to provide information about them. Then it became clear that he had concealed their death, so they were returned as corpses that day.

Wasfa is accused of obstructing investigations into the Beirut port explosion in 2020 by threatening the judicial investigator, Judge Al-Bitar.
