US President Donald Trump described, on Thursday, the incident of a US military helicopter collision with a passenger plane carrying 64 people over Washington, as a "real tragedy", pledging to work not to repeat it in the future.
Trump said at a White House press conference: "We do not know what led to this incident, but we have some very strong opinions and ideas."
He added, “We will work to know the causes of the accident and make sure it is not repeated.”
Trump confirmed the death of all the victims of the incident, noting that "the work is now turning into a mission to recover the bodies."
Trump pointed out that the military helicopter that collided with the plane was "bad to be more than visualization."
Trump accused the two presidents, Joe Biden and Barack Obama of reducing weather safety standards through employment according to the principle of diversity.
There were no details yet about the cause of the incident, as officials in the transport sector said that the plane and helicopter were on a regular flight path on a clear night with a good vision.
According to the audio recordings, the helicopter observers have repeatedly asked whether the passenger plane was "in sight." Then immediately before the crash, they asked her to "pass behind" the plane.
The two planes fell in the Botomic River, and the body of the passenger plane looked divided into three parts.
The Bombardier plane, which is occupied by a subsidiary of the American Airlines Group, approached the National Reagan National Airport at 21:00 (02:00 GMT) after it took off from Witchita in Kansas when the collision occurred. >
