The Central Bank of Yemen explains the reason for excluding the disbursement of May salaries through banned banks

The Central Bank of Yemen in the temporary capital, Aden, confirmed, on Tuesday, the continued ban on dealing with some banks, with the exception of the payment of April and May salaries to some government agencies and employees, and May salaries to some employees, due to the proximity of Eid.
The bank said in a statement published by the official Yemeni News Agency, that the activities currently practiced by these banks are limited to what is permitted within the framework of the decision, which is their continued service to their customers and fulfillment of their obligations.
He explained that this includes disbursing salaries for the months of April and May to some government agencies contracting with some of these banks, and whose employees have completed opening accounts with them since the start of implementing the process of digitizing salaries.
He added: “Given the proximity of Eid and knowing that the process of transferring salaries according to the conditions set by the government requires time, some banks were allowed to pay salaries for the month of May.”
