Prime Minister Ben Mubarak directs the formation of a government committee with the private sector

The head of the (internationally recognized) Yemeni government, Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak, directed the formation of a government committee with the private sector to address the obstacles facing the commercial and investment sector and develop visions to enhance partnership with vital sectors.
During a Ramadan evening with the Aden Chamber of Commerce and Industry and a number of representatives of the private sector and entrepreneurs on Sunday, March 31, he stressed the importance of rebuilding the relationship on the basis of trust and commitment to the rights and duties of each party.
The Prime Minister spoke - according to the official news agency “Saba” - about promising opportunities that can be exploited despite the difficult challenges. Emphasizing our determination to work with the private sector to develop a common vision that contributes to creating broader and greater investment opportunities.
Bin Mubarak stressed the government’s keenness to create a strategic partnership with the private sector as a leader in the path of sustainable development in various sectors, and to develop a clear participatory vision for the future in order to create the desired transformation.
According to “Saba”, the Prime Minister stressed that the title of the current stage is to enhance transparency and accountability and combat corruption of all types and levels, and that this is an irreversible choice and everyone must be partners in moving towards achieving this, including the private sector.
The Yemeni economy in the governorates affiliated with the internationally recognized government is witnessing “severe” repercussions as a result of the Houthi bombing of oil export ports in the governorates of southern Yemen in late 2022, which resulted in the cessation of oil exports, which constitute 65 percent of the government budget.
