The administration of Aden International Airport issued an official statement denying the validity of what was circulated regarding imposing restrictions on women traveling without a mahram.
The airport relations official, Adel Hamran, confirmed that “the news that was circulated on social media is incorrect, and was not issued by any responsible party at the airport.”
Hamran considered that publishing such news might aim to disturb the well-being of travelers and their families, or to tarnish the reputation of the airport.
Hamran called on media colleagues not to be drawn into rumours, stressing the importance of verifying information from official sources before publishing it.
He stressed that all travel procedures through Aden Airport are carried out normally and without any restrictions on women.
Hamran also reassured citizens who intend to travel through the airport that they can do so with confidence, expressing their hope to provide a safe and comfortable travel experience for everyone.
